WHAT IS THE PURPOSE & MEANING
OF THE PALMAR LINES?

The hand lines definitely represent one of the most appealing aspects of the hands. Even though some of the lines - especially the so-called 'flexion creases' - have been associated with hand motorics and hand behavior.

Even though the exact function of the palmar lines is not well understood, a connection with the palmar arterial arches and hand bones has been recognized according modern science today.

Palm lines, palmar arterial arches & hand bones!

The nature of the palm reading lines is partly associated
with the palmar arterial arches & the hand bones.

Maybe therefore it is not really surprising to see that these mysterious palm lines sort of represent the key-aspect of the hand that is used for the purpose of divination (a.k.a. fortune telling/fortelling the future). Nevertheless, this speculative activity is hardly build on solid grounds at all because most aspects of the hand lines simply do not remain stable in time!

In order to read the palm lines properly it is crucial to discriminate first [1] various types of hand lines from each other, and additionally to discriminate [2] 'ordinary lines' (= normal palm lines) from 'extraordinary lines' (weird palm lines):

[1] The major palmar lines (in palmistry: life line, head line & heart line) and the finger creases (not highlighted in the picture above) represent the most stable lines of the hand. The palmar finger creases (in palmistry: fate line, health line & fame line), the secundary creases (Via Lascivia, mars line, girdle of venus & intuition line), and the tertiary creases (in palmistry: marriage lines, ring of solomon, ring of saturn & ring of sun) are far less stable. And finally the accessory lines can come and go within a short period of time, sometimes even within a couple of days or yours!

[2] Sometimes a palm reading line can be described as 'extraordinary', and in those cases the line typically has higher diagnostic value than other lines; however, the basic rules in Multi-Perspective Palm Reading illustrate that it always takes the presence of additional hand signs (beyond the hand lines) in order to make a solid & accurate assessment!
